Worked my supervisor shift today... went quite well for something that could have turned into an enormous clusterf*ck. All in all, I'm very pleased with the way it turned out.
Seems like some good things are happening... those of you that work with me know that I've been trapped in sort-of-a-backup-supervisor situation for the last year or so, thanks to a select few people whose place it isn't even is to make the call, nor are they good enough at their own jobs to be critiquing my performance.
I'd be lying if I said it wasn't a bit frustrating, but Co-op is a very small part of my life (thank Jeebus for that). And based on today, and tonight, I think I even managed to silence a few of them. So I guess we'll just see how it goes and roll with the punches.
New Eminem album on November 16th... It's been way too long, man. It's gonna be called "Encore". Say what you want, Slim Shady is the king.
Picked up the new "Saliva" album a few weeks ago. "Survival of the Sickest", it's called. Not bad, but definately not up to the par of their two previous albums. The first one was still the best.
Watched the DMX movie "Never Die Alone" last night with the wife. I'm a DMX-maniac, so I had to see it. It got no press, no reviews, and I can't say I ever noticed it in theatres, and most of the time those are the best movies out there. Came away feeling a bit flat. The movie was definately different, which is always a good thing. So I'd say good, not great. Kacey didn't like it. Of course, perhaps the only reason I liked it at all was because DMX was in it.
This movie was also the first time I've ever seen David Arquette in something other than a comedic role, so I thought he'd be a lot better than I think he is normally, but he wasn't. Am I the only one that finds him a sub-par actor?
For all of you who think Saturday Night Live's funniest past stars are Will Ferrell, Chris Kattan, Jimmy Fallon... they're all funny, but the two funniest past performers of the modern-day SNL, in my opinion, are Tracey Morgan and Cheri Oteri. Don't get me wrong, I love Will Ferrell but I'm watching "The Best Of Cheri Oteri" right now and I find myself laughing twice as hard as I did while watching "The Best Of Will Ferrell"... same as I did when I watched "The Best Of Tracey Morgan". Just hilarious stuff.
Did anyone else see Zell Miller cut down the "Hardball" guy Chris Matthews like a redwood at the Republican Convention? I'm not a Chris Matthews fan, but Holy Christmas this guy was belligerant. And to be more belligerant that Chris Matthews, that's saying something. And even though I don't like Chris Matthews, just like Jon Stewart said, at least he finally played some actual hardball.
Peace,
B.A.D
