(Part of these jokes are from my friend Dave, and some of them are from a CSI spoof website.)
Would anyone mind explaining to me what the appeal of CSI is to everybody? I don't get it, I really don't get it. It's like, one of the most popular shows on TV today, and I can't sit through an episode. They're all the same.
Every time an episode is previewed, I swear the word "shocking" comes up. Apparently each week is more shocking than the last.
Typical CSI Episode:
Show opens.
CSI staff on the scene of a grisley murder.
CSI staff finds a clue.
Token Black Guy with afro: My god.
Grey Fox: This is going to be a hard case to crack, this is one of our most shocking cases yet.
Opening credits.
Commercial break.
Samples taken to the lab and analyzed.
Minor clue found.
Clue leads to a witness.
Question a witness, he appears to have helpful info. He implicates two suspects.
Question suspect one, he's highly suspicious.
Question suspect two, she's not as suspicious, but she is sexy.
Grey Fox: Let's run those samples again, to see if we can substantiate this helpful info.
Commercial break.
Lab samples have been analyzed, and new proof comes up, desipite the samples having already been analyzed once.
They now have proof it could not have been the highly suspicious suspect one.
Token Black Guy with afro: Wow, what a shocking development. This clearly is one of our most shocking cases.
Grey Fox: I knew it was suspect two, that sexy bitch.
They go to arrest suspect two, but he's got proof it wasn't him.
Token Black Guy with afro: Wow, this really is a noodle scratcher. What are we going to do now?
Grey Fox: I'll tell you what we're going to do son, we're going to run those samples... again.
Commercial break.
Through a combo of running the tests a third time (they should really just run the samples 3 times to start with, they could easily cut this down to a half hour show with 10 minutes of commercials, especially if they also cut down on the flashbacks that give me seizures), and the suspect slipping up on an alibi, they nail the guy who appeared to be helpful, the witness.
Token Black Guy with afro: This job never gets any easier, does it, chief? How could anyone do something like that to somebody?
Grey Fox: It's a pain that never ends, son.
End credits.
Preview to next weeks equally, if not more shocking episode.
I challenge anyone to watch and episode and find it that much different than this.
