What a f*cking s*it bitch marathon of a 10 days this has been. As of this morning at 10, I officially have no major commitments and no work, as I decided to give myself a long weekend from Co-op. Monday night, I have to f*ck with the store network drive and get some backup on there since the disk drives on our new computers are now completely f*cking hollow.
Henceforth, I will not be posting this weekend, so here's an Ask B.a.D.
Q: Do you really think it's neccesary to make fun of people who take the time to ask you questions? Sometimes you take questions that are not intended at all to be funny, and make them the butt of jokes for three paragraphs. If you're going to do that, then why have the column? It was only funny the first couple times, and after that it wasn't funny all that much. I'm sorry to tell you this, but the joke has died. No one is laughing. Enough is enough. Why do you think people want to write, so that they can get made fun of? Not so much. Why do you even bother doing it? It's not funny, dude.
A: Thanks for writing "dude", but could you clarify your point a bit for me?
...Ah, but you did!
Q: Do you share the widespread opinion that the TNA Bound For Glory was a flop, and that putting the World Title on Rhyno was a bad move?
A: Let's start with the easy answer, the PPV. I do think that it was definately not the best one they've ever put on, but it wasn't the worst, either. While Ultimate X was probably the most momumentally f*cked-up match in TNA's PPV history, and there we're other bouts that couldn't hold their own, you still had Styles and Daniels which was off the charts, Monsters Ball which was just flat-out insane, and Samoa Joe's match, which, while short, was still good. The Battle Royal was exciting, in large part because you really didn't have a clue who was going to win. Compare that to most WWE PPV's of the last 2 years. Oy.
Onto Rhyno. A lot of people are saying that he just isn't a credible champion for a promotion that's really coming into it's own against WWE. This is a bit of a vaild argument, unless you consider that for people like me who remember and watched ECW, where Rhyno had the world title. Holding the ECW world title is no small accomplishment, and he was believeable there. Therefore, despite WWE burying him for a good 5 years, I believe he's champion material. There's no reason he can't do the same in TNA, if they book him right.
TNA clearly wanted to put the world title on someone who casual WWE fans would recognize and turn to to watch the program, which was a smart move. That's why they had Nash originally planned, maybe not to win the title, but to at least be in the running for it. Nash has worldwide recognition among wrestling fans. Rhyno may not have been the best choice. But you have to remember they pretty much had to punch the ending of the show up on the fly when they learned that Nash hit the hospital the night before.
Raven would have been a far better one, because the thing about Raven is, no matter how casual a fan you are, no matter what promotion you watched, WWE, WCW, ECW, TNA, or ROH, Raven has been everywhere for at least a couple years, so you've at least heard of him.
Or they could have gone the complete other direction and let one of the young guys take the belt home. Styles, Daniels, Williams, Truth or Joe would have been good choices. They would still have more than enough guys to do the X-Division if they we're to dust off guys like Aeris, Dutt and Shelley and let them really hit it.
Anyways, those we're their 2 choices. If you're gonna use credible characters from WWE, they have to work with what they got. If they're gonna use new guys, they have a chance of differentiating themselves that much more, but risk alienating the audience in a time when they've just started their TV deal and need to continue expanding their rapidly growing fanbase. But f*ck it, that's the intracacies of booking against WWE. You can't have it both ways. We'll see where it goes.
Q: Have you seen Prison Break? Do you think there can be any ending to the season other than them escaping. And if they do, then what happens next season?
A: No. As in "No, I don't watch it."
I don't have time for any more TV than I already watch. Otherwise I'd probably give it a shot, it sounds good.
But no.
Q: Why did they turn Randy Orton heel? If he's supposed to be the leader of a new generation, shouldn't the guy be a babyface? I personally think the guy is the future.
A: Well, you're an idiot. The guy is an average wrestler at best. I admit they've done a decent job on him, but I guess when you compare him to what the rest of WWE has to offer, he doesn't look that bad.
As far as turning him heel, it's because he'll never be over as a babyface. They tried that when he fueded with HHH, remember? Didn't work. Because the guy is a s*itty babyface. And that's because he's a generally irritating guy. Take a look at that flat f*cking face of his and tell me you're not irritated by it.
As a sidenote, Randy Orton's theme is "Burn In My Light" by Mercy Drive. Remember that the next time Mercy Drive is in a town near you, and you feel the urge to unload your rocket launcher.
Q: You say you write posts in class. Where do you go to school, what do you take, and would you recommend it?
A: I take Business Administration (Marketing Major) at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. And yes, I'd recommend it. Excellent program.
But, avoid Judith Nash as an instructor if you have to chew your own leg off to do it.
I graduate in December. If you feel the need to buy me a gift, I wouldn't say no to a peach tree. I could eat a peach for hours.
In January I start 2 more years to get a Management degree at the University of Lethbridge through SAIT. I don't know how that is because I can't see into the future.
Yet.
Q: Who do you see as the future of WWE?
A: Bret Hart.
Just kidding. F*ck that guy.
Ahahahahaha, yeah, f*ck that guy.
Charlie Hass, Akio, The Dudley Boyz, Jesus, Gail Kim, Miss Jackie, Shannon Moore, Danny Basham, Billy Kidman, Maven, Spike Dudley, Gangrel, and Morecai.
Oh, snap.
See ya next week!
