I Dare You

Some nights I sleep like someone put a bullet in my head. Some nights I just sit up and think back.

Lately there are days that I look at my life now and wonder how it got so different from how it was 6 short months ago. 2006 has been a tough year. It's been a year of change, and I'm just over halfway through it.

I feel like I've experienced 6 years of memories in the last 6 months. The breakup. Being single. Hoa. Making sure the ClubHouse stays up. The semester of hell. Aleta.

And looking back at it now, I smile and realize (yet again) that I wouldn't have done it any differently. Not a single thing. Not the breakup. Not being single. Not Hoa. Not making sure the ClubHouse stays up. Not the semester of hell. And definatley not Aleta.

It's not that everything was so horrible before. It's how much better it is now.

Everything pays off. I wouldn't change a single thing about where I am now. I could never have imagined this year would have held as much for me so far as it has. More changes are definately coming.

I'd go into detail about what I'm thinking in regards to continuing to ride this wave of posative change, but I'm afraid everyone would think I'm nuts. Well, let me rephrase, I would be afraid that you'd think I'm nuts if I gave even a first thought to what anyone but me thought about all this.

But I'm still not going into it. All you need to know is that I'm staying on this tidal wave. Because it's mine, dammit.

It's like poker. You have to know when to fold your cards, but when you feel as good as I do right now, you have to hold your cards, hold your breath, and know that nobody else is stacking the deck and that this is what's best. Having faith pays off. Believing pays off. Always.

This is just me. This isn't anything borrowed, this isn't a reaction to anyone flaming me for borrowing stuff, this isn't anything from work or school or anything else. This is just me.

Wow.
Even in madness I still believe.
I dare you to tell me to walk through fire.
Wear my soul and call me a liar.
I dare you.

I just had to comment on this one.......I've known B.a.D for a really long time, but we've especially grown close in the last couple of years. We've been there for eachother when we BOTH went through some extremely......poor times. But now...well, I haven't seen him this happy in one hell of a long time. And I mean truly happy, not just going through the motions. Dammit B.a.D, I'm proud of you. No matter how surrounded in other people's bullshit you are, you keep your head above the water so you don't drown in your tidal wave....and yes, it is yours. And I'd hold onto your poker hand if I was you.......it's a good one....hell, I'd bet your Dad's porsche on it!!!!!! (soooooo......test drive, yes? I'm a good driver, I swear )
