Hen's Night - Is there a point?

24 hours ago i was recovering from a big night, nursing a bad headache and also hoping that no camera phone photos would surface from the night before. I had just attended my very first official hen's night. It started out innocently enough, a few drinks at the Bride's mothers house, family and friends mingling over cocktails and champagne. Suddenly it was as if something snapped. There was a karaoke machine produced, there was suddenly a straw that had suspicious veins running down it in my drink and there was a poster of a naked guy on the wall ready to play pin the *##* on the naked guy. I must have had just enough to drink to be in some sort of contemplative mood, but i was left wondering, what was the point of tonight?

Thinking back i am totally mortified that i would dance with 10 girls around the dj box with toilet paper veils, condom wrapper necklace's and a party hat with naked men all over it. At the time, i couldn't think of anywhere i would rather be, now i'm praying the photos don't surface. EVER. My boy is in the wedding party, his best friend is getting married in a month's time. He is the one organising the Buck's weekend. I'm wondering what they will get up to now, they are camping at a place where they all grew up together, which is in the middle of nowhere. Should i be worried? Not, of course, about anything to do with other women, strippers or animals. More like should i be worried that they will dance around singing Pussycat Dolls and wearing edible underwear like we did?

I guess this is just the first of many of these type events i will attend over the years... i guess i'm looking forward to the next one, and this time i will have thought ahead and protected myself ;o)
