The Piss B-Rush off list

Hey everyone

Thought i'd put something out here, as I've got nothing else important to do.

I've been in a rather "gumpy" mood lately, so I thought I'd go through the list of things that's put me there. More of a rant and to vent than anything, no real reason for it, but here goes anyway:

Winter Weather:

Holy Bloody Heysoos Christy - WHY THE HELL DO I REMAIN LIVING IN CALGARY!?! It's cold, miserable, and dangerous to one's health. Kat (the girlfriend) and I were in England in June - did you know, that if they get so much as a centimeter of snow, they stay home from work? Here I was this-morning trudging through 4 inches of it downtown, of course no crews are awake yet to plow sidewalks. Kat 'sortof' wants to move to Manchester (England) - it's getting more and more tempting I tell ya.

Contract Employees:

I currently reside in 'contract' land, that means I'm not ACTUALLY considered an employee at my company. I've been here 9 months, now, and just signed a 6 month contract extension. ARG What a contract employee gets: NOTHING. If I want to take a day off? Sure - go ahead, but do I get paid for it, like the rest of these people? Nope. Sick days? wait - that's a whole new heading there...

The Flu Shot:

Now, Sick days - leading into the flu shot? Might seem weird, but gimme a chance. My company's having a flu clinic day - giving free flu shots to every employee in the building. Now, that wording seemed odd to me - so I emailed the contact woman and asked, "are contractors eligible for this shot aswell?" "Unfortunately contractors have to pay $20 for the shot, SEE YOU THERE!"

Now, seems to me, the company would want to keep EVERYONE in their employ healthy, so they don't have to pay out sick days. But wait... I DON'T GET SICK DAYS, so i'm of no threat to the company's $ - I get the flu and take a day off they don't pay me! So, my solution? No flu shot for B-Rush, and hopefully I get everyone I work with sicker than dogs. Not to get them sick, but to actually get the company to pay out some cash. mwahaha, yeah yeah, kinda petty - but I did say I was grumpy.

And the #1 thing;

Busy Work:

Seems most of what I've been working on lately is total and complete busy work. There's not much point to it, and it's more boring than watching your 90 year old grandma open a christmas present for 3 hours because she wants to save the paper, but it's given to me to do anyways. Now, I'm normally a hard worker - I could sit here working for 15 hours a day if I actually had something INTERESTING to work on. but jeeze, right now, I can't wait to get outta here every afternoon. I just can't focus on work when it bores the bejezuz outta me, it's just not fun. If I wanted a job that I didn't have to use my brain for, I wouldn't have paid for college, or even gone to high-school. But no, I paid for all that because I WANTED to use my brain, not stand on the road with a "slow" sign on it in a construction zone!

Alright, well, there's another long one... wow...

So there was my rant, *looks at clock* holy crap that killed almost an hour!

everyone be good this weekend!

EDIT:

And one more pissoff for the list:

People who THINK they know how others live their lives based on a short blurb talking about a few hours out of one's life. Don't assume you know anything about anyone, EVER. Don't tell somebody, "your favorite color is yellow because that's what you write in." It's not polite, appreciated, or respectful.

B-Rush's attempt at a quote of the day:

"You don't know shit about shit, and pull up your pants!"
Denis Leary

Sounds kind of like my job. I sit here all day listening to a whole heap of spoiled people complaining about how hard their jobs are, when really they arent, they get VERY looked after! And, they get paid extremely well paid for a bunch of people who are very uneducated!! It makes me sick. These people are earning $150,000 per year...thats not bad for people who didnt finish school!

B-Rush you are so right. Those sort of things piss me off as well. I'm just in a bad mood today. All those comments from my last post have put me off people ;o)

Have a good weekend!

B-Rush...what can I say! You need to move to Australia to work!!

My dad owns his own Scaffolding company. Its probably the biggest Scaffolding company in the town we live in....can I just say that a contracted employee in this business gets...

10 x PAID SICK DAYS PER YEAR

26 X PAID ROSTERED DAYS OFF

4 X WEEKS PAID HOLIDAY LEAVE

I dont know what kind of job you have or what business you are in but, you are in the wrong business by the sounds of it!!!! And so am I! LOL...You said you paid for your education because you wanted to use your brain, it hardly sounds fair when people in my dads industry are getting paid $33.75 per hour. Most of these people are not qualified and did not go to University...

These poeple do have to use their brains...but its not like Scaffolding is hard to figure out! Lol...its a bit harder than holding up a 'slow' sign....but they are lucky enough to get paid excellent money doing so!!

And the thing that pisses me off about some of these people is...they are not greatful that they have an excellent job where they virtually get to do what they want when they want.....AND get paid $33.75 per hour! These people are the biggest bludgers that I know...any chance of getting out of doing some work and they are on to it!!

But....what can you do!!??!!
