Before I forget, I'd like to thank B-Rush for joining. This thing is kind of a 2-man show these days, but that's OK. I love reading his posts, he has a great reading style and is a great addition.
It's interesting reading people's reactions when they find out I'm going to the next level. It's a wierd feeling being treated differently by people who. either openly or otherwise, didn't care much for me or who I associate myself with. That's something I don't get. I'm only human, but I try my best to treat everybody with the same amount of respect. If someone I knew got promoted, no matter how I felt about them, they would get treated exactly the same from me. Sure, I'd say congratulations, but the way I treat them would be no different.
It's not like I become a different person now. I just don't get it. It doesn't bother me, it actually rather amuses me, but I still don't understand it.
I decided to download and watch the ECW PPV, which I'm doing right now while I lay in bed and write this, since apparently this is the PPV that scorched the earth and the was the unexpected last show for the creater, innovator, and godfather of ECW Paul Heyman and the ECW Champion and wrestling mainstay through every company for the past 7 years, The Big Show. How all of this happened after one night, especially the Heyman thing, is beyond me. Apparently Vince didn't like the show and doesn't want Heyman in charge of it anymore. Without WWE watering it down, Heyman's ECW from back in the day before WWE owned it was gold. Now they're watering it down and not letting him have total control, and they wonder what's going wrong. Rather than giving him full control back, they let him go, and Sunday's PPV was the final straw.
I personally don't see the problem so far, I'm only 30 minutes into it and it's still the first match. MNM .vs. The Hardy Boyz is kicking ass so far, way better than I'd ever expect that match to be, especially by today's tag team standards, and ESPECIALLY by WWE's tag team standards. And while the PPV is not great, certainly not up to TNA standards, it's still way better than the average WWE PPV these days. I guess the intracacy of wrestling, every downside has an upside. I expect to see Heyman in TNA yelling for hours about how WWE bastardized his creation. As a sidenote, I'm still watching the MNM .vs. Hardy's match, and I would totally baredick that Mercury character. Totally.
Right now I'm reading "The Ambler Warning" and playing "Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories", for those who are wondering, and I strongly recommend both.
