B.a.Days

Two posts in 2 days... nice! Enjoy it now, because when I'm employed and starting school again next month, it won't be this nice. Actually, despite popular opinion to the contrary, I'm not exactly loaded down with free time as it is.

A typical weekday for B.a.D:
  • Get up around 8 when Heather decides it's a good time to treadmill and drive to the gym
  • Do 3 sets each of 5 types of weights and 20 minutes of cardio on the cross-trainer while watching the downloaded Colbert Report from the night before
  • Come home and look for jobs online, do the callbacks and e-mail replies to potential employers
  • Go BACK to the gym around noon with Mizzle and do 30 minutes of cardio on the cross-trainer, and 3 sets of 4 or 5 types of weights, and possibly tan
  • Come home and look for work online some more or go to a job interview, which has become more of the norm
  • Either come home or go out and do whatever I've got on schedule for that night, whatever the case may be

If it sounds relaxing, it isn't. Since I've been legally able to be employed, I have been employed (or at least since my parents forced me to get a job at 17, so there may have been a year or so lieu) by the same company. Now I am not with them, and am not employed at all. It's a wierd feeling. I mean, anyone who knows me knows that I have a system of personal budgeting that makes anyone boggle the mind as to why I'm not an accountant (if it's not my money, I give no crap, that's why) so it's not like I'm hard up for cash. I also somehow managed to get the yearly manager bonus despite being a manager for less than 2 weeks, plus I've got a wicked tax return coming. I'm not saying I don't need to look for work, but it's nice not to have that pressure. It still skitzes me out of the idea of not being employed though.

Going back to school starting next month will definately help with that feeling, though. Computer Management Information Systems, here I come. One course per month, one at a time... hopefully be done by the end of the year and have the management degree. I'll be 26 by then, a little older than I wanted to be when I got it, but not by much.

Right now I'm writing because I got 9 hours of sleep last night, and I didn't want to sleep again before the gym. I'm trying to cut down on the sleep I get during the day and I already applied for about 10 jobs online. Something had to be done. People ask me what I'm doing these days anyways, so this seems as good a way to inform them since apparently EVERYONE I know reads this thing.

The gym twice a day is just something that kind of happened. I really enjoy it, and it's been good for me. Watching Colbert on the cross-trainer on the morning (except for this morning, I watched Thursday's 30 Rock, and man do I love that show. Best non-animated comedy out there since Arrested Development) helps pass the time, and during round 2 I'm with Mizzle so that passes the time too. Having Mizzle there for round 2 most days really helps motivate me to go back a second time. If anyone's wondering why I'm doing twice, I can only look for work so many hours of the day, and I may as well be doing something beneficial for myself the rest of the time. Personally I think I deserve to be congratulated, what with a brand new Wii sitting at home that I COULD be playing instead of going the second time, or even the first time. But it's all working out tremendously and I feel physically fantastic, easily the best shape of my life. The only thing is I try not to blow up too much on the cardio, and so far I haven't, but that's something to stay on top of.

My nights are basically a crap shoot, depending on who wants to do what. Today is a busy one with two workouts, probably hanging with Mizzle for an hour or so, then going for an interview, so likely tonight I'll stay home because there's talk of spaghetti and two hours of 24 that I don't think I'll be able to pass up. Also, I've heard there's a 2-hour TNA special on tonight. I've been kind of down on the wrestling scene lately and haven't really watched much of it at all, except for the Royal Rumble which I only got to spoil myself after quitting my job the same day, and it was passable. But I haven't really been into it, but if TNA is getting a special they must have something... well, special to show, so I definatley want to watch it. TNA is definatley the more watchable company from where I'm standing, but have been making some questionable choices with talent lately, but I'll actually WATCH this one tonight instead of just reading about it and see where it goes.

Tuesday nights are Small Group (a term we use to replace bible study because it sounds cooler and very little studying goes on as much as just discussion), which I have enjoyed IMMENSELY, and I thank my friend Ashleigh to no end for introducing me to it. Everyone there is really cool, and people would be a lot less skeptical of Christianity if they could just meet some normal Christians like these people. Most of them are young, some of them my age. They say they've already learned a lot from me, which is very flattering, but I am still a new Christian and am trying to find my way with it, so I guarantee I've learned tons more from them. Much. Kids. Love. I digress.

Thursday nights are typically spent at the gym (Mizzle's work) and we play Wii or watch the last season of The Shield. That makes 3 times a day I'm at the gym on Thursdays. That's a lot of fun and there's usually Quiznos and Coke Zero to be had those nights as well. Yummy. As a sidenote, Mizzle I am going to crush you at all 5 Wii Sports this week, except golf. I know I won't win that. How am I supposed to use a shot at half-power when the Wii has NO IDEA what half of MY power is. What if I we're insanely strong or insanely weak? I basically just BARELY move the controller and the ball goes flying 200 yards. This makes putting a gross midadventure for me.

Wednesdays and Fridays are crap shoots as well, this Wednesday I get to hang at Nat's apartment and watch DVD's with her and her little 1-year-old, who has grown on me a lot. Friday Amber is coming to join me and Mizzle for a workout round, which I think is going to become the norm, which is nice. I only do one workout on Friday's because that's the day I try to clean up my place to avoid the cluster of everyone doing it on Saturday, me and Dano are hanging out for some shenannigans, which we haven't done in a while, so I'm looking mad forward to that. I'm also supposed to grab coffee with Ashleigh at some point, but I'm unsure as to when or where. Ashleigh, I know you read this. IM me and remind me of where and when.

The weekends are crap shoots as well, except for church on Sunday mornings and usually some lunch with Small Group. I try to snag in a workout during one of the two days as well, but after 9 or 10 times during the week, it doesn't always happen. Fit in a game of Chess or Risk with Dad in there somewhere during those two days, this weekend I'm not too sure what's going on besides that, maybe hang out with Nicole and/or Rich and watch a movie.

Anyways, to those who wonder what I'm up to these days, that's about the size of it. It's not boring by any stretch of the imagination, that's for sure.

So between the e-mails, the messages, and the phone calls, this Co-op situation is going to be addressed, and I am going to do it sometime this week, and I am going to do it here. A couple times since I started this site I've had posts that addressed certain things so that people could STOP STOP STOP assuming things and wondering about things and making their own assumptions or just believing what they hear. Those worked out well and managed to stop at least some, if not all of, the talk. It's definatley time to do it again.

However, I would like to extend a thank you to the people who call and either (a) congratulate me or (b) ask how I'm doing now that the word got out that I'm gone. To (c) the people calling who want gossip asking what happened, eat yourselves. But for the people who are congraulating or concerned, a heartfelt thanks. There's really no reason to be concerned, but I apprecaite it anyways. But a lot of calls have been coming through lately now that word is out big-time, yesterday I received no less than 5, and for 3 of them, I don't even know how they got my number. Regardless though, if you're (a) or (b), it's apprecaited. I suppose I should be bothered by the fact that people must be floating my number around without asking me, but meh. If intentions are good, I can overlook creepiness.

If you want a good rock album, Saliva's new one, "Blood Stained Love Story" is out and it's pretty good. Just the right amount of hard mixed with the perfect small amount of soft. Not as good as some of their old stuff, but that stuff is hard to top for them or any rock band in my opinion. Also, I'm sure there are some people out there who would liken the title of that album to an analogy of my life, but I digress.

Lastly, I saw just about the greatest Family Guy scene I've ever seen last night. Long story short, it goes like this.

* Begin Scene *
Lois: Peter, I want you to quit drinking. It killed your father.
Peter: You're right, Lois. From this moment on, Peter Griffin is done drinking!

* 5 Minutes Later, Brian walks in and Peter is trying to light a pipe. *
Brian: Peter, what are you doing?
Peter: Crack.
Brian: ... WHAT the %&$#?
Peter: Well, Lois said I had to quit drinking. I have to do something.
Brian: Doing crack isn't the answer! You have to figure out what MAKES you want to drink and get to the root of your problem!
Peter: You're right, Brian! This isn't something that can be fixed by drugs! From this moment on, Peter Griffin is going to find himself!

* 5 Minutes Later, Brian walks in and Peter is kneeling on the floor with the pipe beside him, bloodshot eyes, swaying back and forth and holding tightly onto a pillow. *
Brian: Awwwww... Peter, what the HELL?!?!?!
Peter: THE GOVERNMENT TOOK MA BABY!!!!!!!
* End Scene *

Crap was just hilarious. I think you may have had to actually seen it, but there it is anyways.

Time for the gym, round 2. Mizzle awaits me.
God Bless everyone, see you later this week.
