As of yesterday, I am officially the only Orientation trainer for the south side of Calgary. Possibly, pretty soon, I'll be the only one for the whole city. Yes, I was supposed to be done with training six months ago when my contract ran out. I agreed to stay because one of the two training managers was on their deathbed and they didn't have time to find anybody else. So I said I'd stay, and worked without a contract.
Now, they asked if I wanted to keep doing it and extend the contract, because they're in a jam. I don't really want to keep doing it, but I don't mind helping out, and here's why.
Julie Griffiths is easy to work for. She accomodates me whenever I have a problem, always stuck up for me when it came to dealing with my store, treats me with a lot of respect, and didn't mind offering me more money/flexibility when it became clear she couldn't find anyone else to do this otherwise thankless job. They also didn't let the fact that I'm only 23 stop them from making me the senior trainer.
So because of the fact that they treat me with respect, I don't mind staying and helping out in the least, because they've done a lot for me.
If people like her and Bianco Fernando (other training manager) ran Co-op, it would be a much better place. I know a lot of people that could learn from them.
Greatest Orientation trainer in the city,
B.A.D
