B.A.D goes fruity (and vegetabely)

Just got home from a pretty cool party at Heather's house. It was the goodbye party for Dave, Jaret, and Laurie, who are officially all gone now. As mentioned in previous posts, you will all be greatly missed. The night was rounded out humorously with a very drunk Bitter-beer-face making us all feel better about ourselves by making us glad that none of us could ever have less class than she does.

In another entertaining tidbit, apparently Bitter-beer-face heard me drive into the parking lot the other day at work, playing my usual rap music, so she has now taken it upon herself to start calling me "MC Hammer". Ooh, original. If that's the worst you can come up with for what's wrong with me, then I don't have the heart to tell you you're the ugliest alcoholic I've ever seen. But in the interest of an open dialogue, here's a freestyle for you, BBF:

Makin' fun of my music?
That's the best you got, sis?
Only reason you call me MC Hammer,
Is 'cause you can't touch this.

Onto the big news. I found out on Friday that I got into produce (hence the name of this post). I delayed posting about it or telling anyone about it for a couple days because I wasn't quite sure how I felt about it. Obviously I want to do it, or I wouldn't have applied for it.

I've fought really hard to get really far on the Front End, which is a reason to stay. But as far as I've gotten, I know I'll never get as far as I really want to go, because of a few small-minded assclowns who don't want me to get there, based solely on my age. Also, there's a lot of good people who have already left, or are in the process of leaving. Soon, most of that good stuff will be gone.

Also, I'd like to state that seniority is the worst possible thing to entirely base a supervisor position on. Basically, that means I could do the bare minimum of work, showing no extra effort or ambition for 10 years, but I'd still get the supervisor position just because I'd been there the longest. I'm not saying seniority shouldn't be taken into account, I'm saying that merit and ability should be equally important. Basically, I had all the merit, ability and fitness to do the job very well, but apparently I have not been rotting for long enough in this festering boil that we affectionately call a company.

So rather than wait for my turn to come up on the seniority list, I'm saying f*ck it and moving. I don't want to get a position just based on how long I've been there anyways, I'd like to at least have some of the work I've done taken into account.

So to Jaret, Dave, Lisa, Jaibe, Raeleen, Brittaney, Sandra, Heather, Nicole, Marina, Shawn, Steve, and especially Christine, I'll miss you guys lots. Every one of you made Front End easy going and fun, and I fully encourage you all to make it out yourselves before it gets too misereable.

Run for your lives!
