B-Day Aftermath

Well, time for a few odds and ends that nobody really needs to hear but I'll say anyways.

Lots of posative feedback for the last post on my teachers. Why anyone who didn't know the people in question would enjoy it is beyond me, but I'm not complaining. Glad you liked it. And if you're in my class and haven't read it, read the post below this one. Lots of good jokes on our teachers.

I hate thinking of titles for these things. The only time that I don't hate any title that I come up with is when I can make a really good or really lame joke based on the topic of the post. So if some of them are lame, I apologize. There's no need to send me an e-mail just to tell me that they suck. Chances are, if you think they suck, then save yourself the time, becuase I probably thought it sucked too. I was just unable to come up with anything better, and hey, I gotta write something.

My parents got me the first season of The Shield. I'm gonna try that out for treadmill material this winter, along with the third and fourth seasons of 24. It looks phenomenal and has great word of mouth coming from people who actually make an effort to look for good and different television beyond the vast wasteland of reality shows, sitcoms and relationship material shows that can't tell themselves apart.

And I'm not sure how many times I've said this, but yes, I do read all my e-mail. I have been getting a little behind on it lately, but I am reading it. I just don't respond to it. That would attract even more e-mail. And that would make my life an exercise in futility. But in case you're wondering if I got and read your e-mail, yes I did.

Kacey got me TNA DVD's for my B-day, all of which are a good view. I can't actually say I was impressed with the Ultimate X DVD that she got me for my birthday. For all the good stuff I've heard about it, I was let down. It was good for a once-over I guess, but for some reason I didn't find the Ultimate X matches or the Ultimate X tournament all that good. It was just high spot after high spot, which isn't really a match. It's ballet. Some part of the match has to resemble a fight. Anyways, I'm being way too critical of workers I respect way too much, I'm just saying the X division is something that really got better with time, because most of those matches are a few years old.

The Raven DVD is phenomenal, Raven is a genius. The way he works has such a psychology to it that I think it just gets over a lot of fans' heads. Haven't watched the AJ DVD's yet, am saving those 'till last. Jeff Hardy is a nut, that's all that needs to be said. I can never really put a peg on him, the man will never be in a mat classic. He'll be in a Terry Funk or a Mick Foley class. Which is a blessing or a curse, depending on who you ask. I can't decide.

You know what's amazing? That Ralph Klien still makes an effort to make people like him. It's insane. So many people dislike him, I'd have just said "f*ck it" and if people didn't like what I did, then screw 'em. What are they gonna do to him? Nothing, that's what. Because most people only care about the situation enough to bitch, not enough to actually do something about it. And if you're not into it enough to actually put some effort into your tirade, then why even bother opening your mouth? F*ck it.

It was a mistake to give Survivor another chance. I may watch an episode here or there, but it looks like it's gonna be largely the same. When they said they had 2 past Survivors we're coming back, I'd just assumed that they'd pick someone well known from one of the more successful earlier shows, in an attempt to boost viewership. Instead they took 2 losers from the last Survivor, which fared worse than any of its predecessors before this. No Survivor they could ever have now would ever top the original, or All-Stars.

Again, thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday, weather you be a friend of a reader. It was very, very nice.

Next week it's back to the normal grind, no more people buying me food. It's back to the health kick, the jogging, the lifting, and the fruit bars. I enjoyed my week of decadance, but now that I'm at the end of it, I feel like s*it. Which I guess is a good thing, better that I feel the need to get back on track, rather than just fall right out of the active lifestyle and continue to eat like that every week.

Thanks to Kacey for a great birthday night on Friday, and to my family for a great one on Thursday.

Think that's it. Enjoy your weekends.
